What is #Plasma #resurfacing and can it help my eye and lip wrinkles?

One of the procedures I offer is plasma resurfacing, a versatile treatment that can be performed around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and on the upper lip. These areas are often challenging to treat, especially when it comes to stubborn horizontal and vertical lip lines that may not respond well to hyaluronic acid fillers. Plasma resurfacing provides an alternative option for patients who prefer to avoid fillers or lasers while still addressing fine lines and improving skin texture.

If you have concerns about lines in these delicate areas and are looking for a different approach, plasma resurfacing may be worth considering. I invite you to come in for a complimentary consultation, where Dr. Rahimi can review your goals, show you before-and-after results, and help determine how this treatment can benefit you.

Can #peptides help improve your skin color, texture and glow? The answer is yes

Peptide-based therapies have emerged as an important advancement in cosmetic medicine over the past decade, complementing traditional surgical and non-surgical approaches. Originally developed for metabolic health, including weight management and reducing the risk of conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, peptides have demonstrated broader regenerative and anti-aging benefits. In aesthetic practice, they are increasingly used to support skin rejuvenation by enhancing cellular signaling, promoting collagen production, and improving overall skin quality. These effects can help refine skin texture, improve tone and radiance, and support healing after cosmetic procedures, allowing for more natural-looking and longer-lasting results.

In addition to their approved uses, peptides are often utilized off-label in aesthetic medicine to optimize skin health and recovery. Copper peptides, in particular, have gained attention for their role in wound healing and tissue remodeling. They are believed to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve skin firmness, and enhance the appearance of fine lines and uneven pigmentation. When incorporated into post-procedure care or topical regimens, copper peptides may help accelerate recovery and improve overall skin quality. While results can vary, these therapies represent a promising adjunct to cosmetic treatments, offering patients additional options for maintaining youthful, healthy-looking skin.

Scientific data now shows that #PRP in combination with #microneedling can stimulate scalp hair growth

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is prepared from a small sample of the patient’s own blood and contains concentrated platelets that release naturally occurring growth factors. When introduced into the skin, these signals may activate fibroblasts—the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin and other components of the skin’s supportive structure. Over time, this regenerative response may improve skin firmness, elasticity, texture and overall radiance.

PRP may also soften the appearance of fine lines and make enlarged pores appear less noticeable by improving the quality and density of the surrounding skin. Because PRP works through gradual tissue remodeling rather than adding synthetic volume, improvement develops progressively and generally looks natural. Results vary according to age, skin condition, treatment technique and the characteristics of the PRP preparation.

ULTHERAPY PRIME now FDA approved for BODY TIGHTENING

Tighten your arms, legs, abdomen and buttocks area with a combination of FDA approved #Ultheraprime and Mixto CO2 laser resurfacing and fillers such as #radiesse and #sculptra

For more than a decade, Ultherapy has helped establish microfocused ultrasound with real-time visualization as a leading nonsurgical treatment for mild to moderate skin laxity. Manufacturer-reported experience now exceeds 3.5 million treatments worldwide. The new Ultherapy PRIME platform builds on this history with faster processing, clearer ultrasound imaging and a more efficient treatment experience. Its real-time visualization allows the physician to see beneath the skin and customize energy delivery to the appropriate tissue layers. Ultherapy is FDA-cleared to lift the brow and lax tissue beneath the chin and on the neck, as well as improve lines and wrinkles of the upper chest.

Ultherapy PRIME delivers focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin, initiating the body’s natural collagen-remodeling response without incisions or surgery. The improvement develops gradually, with the brow, jawline and neck often appearing firmer and more defined over the following several months. The treatment can produce natural-looking rejuvenation without changing the patient’s fundamental appearance. Most people can resume normal activities immediately, although temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or tingling may occur. Ultherapy PRIME is faster and may be more comfortable than the original platform, but results and treatment sensations vary, and it is not a replacement for a surgical facelift in patients with substantial skin laxity.

Do sunsreens cause cancer? THE ANSWER IS NO

The study should not be interpreted as evidence that sunscreen causes skin cancer. Observational studies may find higher rates of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma among sunscreen users because the people most likely to use sunscreen are often those already at greatest risk: individuals with fair skin, a history of sunburns, substantial cumulative ultraviolet exposure, or a previous skin cancer. This is known as confounding by indication. Sunscreen users may also undergo more frequent skin examinations, increasing the likelihood that otherwise unnoticed cancers will be diagnosed. A review by Green specifically emphasized that observational sunscreen studies are intrinsically confounded because people at highest risk naturally tend to use the most sunscreen. #skin #skincancer #melanoma #basalcellcancer #sunscreen
